The Colosseum 
Called by the ancients the Amphitheater Flavius,
today the Colosseum is the symbol of ancient Rome. It was an amphitheatre built between 72 and 80 A.D. and could seat up to 50.000 spectators. Famous for its gladiatorial contests, the Colosseum also hosted sea battles, public executions and animal hunts. During the inaugural games hosted by Emperor Titus, it is estimated that 5.000 wild animals were slaughtered.

Saint Peter's Basilica and Square 
The largerst church is not in Italy but in Vatican State!  

There has been a church here since the fourth century and it is commonly believed that St Peters the Apostle is buried beneath the high altar, making this one of the holiest Catholic sites in the world. The artists Michelangelo and Bernini were both involved in designing the present cathedral (Basilica), wish dates back to 1506 A.D.

Vatican City is an independent city-state, ruled by the Pope and home to some of the most famous works of art in the world. The Sistine Chapel is renowned for its magnificent frescoes by Renaissance genius Michelangelo as well as other frescoes by Botticelli, Perugino, and Raphael and many others.

During the Middle Ages, the Church established its temporal rule and Rome remained the seat of the Papal Court until September 20 1870, when the Eternal City became the capital of the Republic of Italy.

"The Vatican" is the Holy See, the central authority of the Roman Catholic Church.

As you probably know it is not allowd to take pictures and talk inside the Sistine Chapel, but thanks to the modern technology  I'm going to bring into life the Chapel in your mind, and eyes.... It is the story of powerful Popes and various artist over a period of 50 years. Besides to Michelangelo's masterpices, we are going to have a close look at the stories of Moses and Jesus on the long walls of the Chapel painted by Botticelli, Ghirlandaio, Perugino and Pinturicchio.

Via Appia Antica (the Appian Way) Is the most celebrated way 500KM long it was built in 312 B.C. We are going to visit the most romantic portion of this way that will allow you to understand many aspects of the history and the daily life of the ancient romans, and above all how uncomfortable was a trip at that time! This tour includes many interesting roman ruins, such as Cecilia Metella's tomb, part of a Middle Age castle, emperor Maxentius' circus, The Catacombs - the Christian underground cemetery dating from the 2nd century, where persecuted Christians once gathered to worship in secret – and Saint Sebastian's Church.

The Jewish Quarter 
The  jewish area, once called ghetto ... 
The Jewish ghetto history doesn't start with the arrival of the nazi troops in 1944 but far before, infact it was created by the Pope in 16th century. Today the Jewish area, where one of the oldest European Jewish communities is settled is a fascinating place, full of history and stil culturally very active and lively. Here the ancient Portico d’Ottavia, witnesses the golden Age of Emperor Augustus, and the imposing Synagogue, set up in 1904 hosts a Jewish life's museum are the heart of the community. Showing you the sites and the bildings, I will tell you different stories, starting from the Ancient Rome times, finisching with the great cooking tradition, in fact this part of the city boasts also many typical restaurants, the Trattorias.
